The Dripping Springs HS tennis season continues on to regional competition after an impressive showing at the district tournament at Vista Ridge High School. The competition was tough throughout the tournament between tennis power houses Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, and Vista Ridge.
Jessi Waite and Stephanie Maldonado finished a stellar HS career with an impressive 4th place finish in girls doubles. Junior, Kevin Byers played outstanding and took 4th place in boys singles.
The mixed doubles team of freshman Jessica Ramsey and sophomore Blake Daniels placed 2nd place to earn the right to advance to theRegion IV Tournament. Blake and Jessica represent the first mixed doubles team from Dripping Springs High School to advance to regionals in almost a decade. Junior, Austin Benesh became the first DSHS male singles player to finish 1st place in 4A district singles competition. With his impressive play Austin, of course, advances to the Region IV Tournament.
Congratulations to the tennis team and coaches Brad Whittelsey and Ron Kolodzy on a great season!!!
Best of luck to Jessica, Blake, & Austin as they represent DSHS and District 25-4A at the Region IV Tournament on April 23rd and 24th @ Blossom in San Antonio.
