5/20/2009 REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS are this weekend against Kingsville King Lady Brahmas in a 2 of 3 series to be played at the San Antonio ISD Spring Sports Complex in San Antonio.

Game 1 - Friday, May 21 - 7:00 pm

Game 2 - Saturday, May 22 - 1:00 pm

Game 3 (if needed) - Saturday, May 22 - 3:00 pm

Directions: Take I-35 South, go under I-10 and exit Theo-Malone and turn left at the light. Go down to the next light, turn left and you will see the field. Go Lady Tigers!

5/19/2009 Last night the Lady Tiger Softball team defeated the Lady Hawks from Hendrickson High School 1-0 at Texas State University. The Lady Tigers would find themselves in trouble in the bottom of the 1st inning allowing the bases loaded, but with two outs Senior pitcher Katie Wood would get a strikeout to end the threat. The Lady Tigers would string together some timely hitting in the top of the 4th with Aspen Herron leading off and beating the throw of the shortstop for an infield single. Aspen would move to 2nd on a passed ball by the catcher and with two outs, sophomore Cassie Carroll would drop a single in over 2nd base allowing Aspen Herron to score on the hit. Those two hits would be it for the Lady Tigers as the defense and pitching would have to carry the Lady Tigers the rest of the way. Great pitching in the middle innings by Junior Brianne Baley would keep the game close. Great diving catches were made by 2nd baseman Cassandra Sloan and a leaping acrobatic catch was made by shortstop Kristen Szkotak. The Lady Hawks would threaten in the bottom of the 7th, but rightfielder Sarah Wittenburg would gun a throw to third and Tina Cisneros applied the tag for the first out. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two outs, Katie Wood would strike out the last batter to preserve the win for Dripping Springs. The Lady Tigers will play the winner of Kingsville King and Gregory Portland this weekend TBA.

5/18/2009 This past weekend the Tiger Track team competed at the Region IV-4A Championships at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio. Amongst bad weather and injury, the athletes had a great meet!

Bailey Johnson came out victorious with a 1st place finish in the 300m hurdles and qualified for the State Championships! She broke her own Regional record from last year, running 44.64. She also finished 6th place in the Long Jump.

The 4x200m Relay of Alyssa Smith, Gabrielle Fernandez, Jenna Beyer and Cheri Ducharme made finals and finished 8th in a tough field.

The State Championship track meet will be Friday, June 5th at Mike E. Myers Stadium on the UT campus.

Congratulate these athletes on a fine performance and wish Bailey the best of luck!

5/11/09 The Lady Tiger Softball team won their 5th consecutive Bi-District Championship with a 2-0 victory over Hutto Friday night! Brianne Baley won her 15th game of the year striking out 7 on the night. Kristen Szkotak and Katie Wood went 2 for 3 at the plate.

The Lady Tigers will face Seguin in the Area Championship series:

Thursday May 14th @ Seguin High School at 7pm

Friday May 15th @ Dripping Springs at 7pm

"If necessary" Saturday May 16th @ Canyon Lake High School at 2pm
