Installing First Class

The FirstClass client is the preferred way to access FirstClass, but if you can't install that client, you may login to FirstClass through the web here.  (This may be slower and not as easy to use but works when you need access to FirstClass and can't easily install the client.)

To benefit from the most recent improvements to FirstClass, you will need to use the newest versions of the client software.

Below, you will find links to download the new client installers for Macintosh and Windows machines.

Directions:

  1. Click on the appropriate link above.

  2. When asked where to save the file, save it to your Desktop (or other accessible location)

  3. If you are updating and are already in FirstClass,  Quit or Exit FirstClass.  If this is a new installation,  just continue.

  4. Double-click the Installer icon.

  5. Follow the prompts (Accept, OK, Install, Typical, etc...)

  6. When the Installer finishes, if you have previously installed FirstClass, you may be ready to use the new client with your name and setup information already entered.  However if it is not, continue below with the setup.

  7. The window on top should be titled "Service Setup"  (if not, click "Setup").

  8. In the "User ID" box,  enter your user ID, which is the same as the first part of your email address ( jane.tiger or debbie.sue.tiger)  (You will find a typical Windows screen shot for the setup screen at the bottom of this page.)

  9. Please do not enter a password at this time

  10. Under the "Server", enter fc.dripping-springs.txed.net

  11. Click Save

  12. At the Login screen, enter your password and click Login

  13. When done, you may Quit (Macintosh) or Exit (Windows)

Once FirstClass is installed, you may delete the installer file on your desktop.

Note: please do not enter your password and then click "SAVE"... this can create a security issue.

If you have any problems, please contact your campus Technology Assistant.
