Congratulations Dripping Springs High School Tiger Swim Team!  

At the District 26-4A Swim Meet over the weekend 25 different Tiger swimmers made the top ten in their events.  The boys’ team lead by team captain William Taylor (Sr.), placed second in District and is sending eight swimmers on to the Regional Swim Meet.  DSHS will be represented in 9 of the 11 boys events!

The girls team also finished 2nd and was led by team captain, senior Brandi Townsend.  Dripping Springs HS will be represented with 7 girls at Regionals in 10 of the 11 girls swimming events.  Freshman, Maddie Locus broke the pool record for the 3rd time this year in both the 50 free and 100 free earning her a tie for first place as District 26-4A Swimmer of the Meet! 

The girl’s team performance also earned their coach, Andrea McCarthy, District Girls Swim Coach of the Year!  Congratulations Coach McCarthy!  The Region VII 4-A Swim Meet will be held at
Palo Alto College in San Antonio on Feb. 8th and 9th.  Good Luck Tiger Swimmers.

Region VII 4-A Swim Meet - 2/8 & 2/9

The Dripping Springs High School Swim Team had another great weekend in this record breaking season for Tiger swimming.  With 16 swimmers qualified for Regionals at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, the boys swam to a 6th place finish and the girls finished 3rd overall in Region VII 4-A.  

Boys Team
The boys Medley Relay team of William Taylor, Ben Shepard, Christian Conway and Matt Grabman received the Bronze Medal.  All four swimmers plus Jacob Reeder qualified for Finals in their individual events also.  Other Relay team finalists were Rhys Paine, Robert Burroughs and Justin Ducote.  A.J. Roessler qualified for Regionals but was unable to swim due to a shoulder injury.  

Girls Team
200 Free Relay team (Molly Primm, Chelsea Stahl, Thaisa Howorth and Ali Cisweski)  - 7th in Finals.  
Medley Relay team (Brandi Townsend, Elena Huisman, Ali Cisweski, and Maddie Locus) - 2nd Place - Qualified for State.
400 Free Relay (Brandi Townsend, Elena Huisman, Taylor Finkernagel and Maddie Locus) - 2nd Place - Qualified for State.
Brandi Tounsend - silver medal - 200 Individual Medley;  Gold medal - 100 Breaststroke - Qualified for State in both events.  
Maddie Locus - Gold medals in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle new Regional records - Qualified for State in both events.  

The girls team performance earned coach Andrea McCarthy Region VII 4-A Girls Swim Coach of the Year honors.  Congratulations to all of our Tiger Swimmers and good luck at State February 22nd and 23rd at UT!
