4/22/2009 Congratulations to the Tiger Tennis Team on a great Spring season! Several players competed in the Regional tournament this week at the Blossom Athletic Complex in San Antonio.
Senior, Austin Benesh, won his first round match in an amazing 40 minute match 6-0, 6-0 and put a great fight in the quarter-finals before losing to a strong Lake Travis opponent.
Sophomore, Jessica Ramsey also defeated her 1st round opponent with ease at 6-0, 6-1. She then played a tough quarter-finals match against Flour Bluff losing in 3 sets.
In Boys doubles, Senior Kevin Byers and Sophomore Jonathan Burch battled in the first round and defeated the doubles team from Moody HS in 3 sets. Byers and Burch then faced the #2 seeded team from Boerne Champion in the quarter-finals, losing in 2 sets.
In Girls doubles, the team of Senior Mariah Morgan and Junior Morgan Ware faced the #3 seeded Lake Travis team. In what was a tough match, Morgan / Ware put up a fight but came up short losing to Lake Travis in 2 sets.
Our other Girls Doubles team of Sophomores Leanne Cantalupo and Marissa Steel faced a team from Calallen. Cantalupo and Steel showed great heart as they fought back after losing the first set but it was not enough and they were defeated in 2 sets.
Overall this has been as amazing year for the Tiger Tennis team as we are District Champions in both Fall Team tennis and Spring Tennis! Our players faced some tough opponents throughout the year and in addition to playing some amazing tennis, we saw a lot of heart, discipline and most importantly GREAT CHARACTER from all of our players. We are looking forward to more exciting seasons in the future!

3/31/2009 The Tiger Tennis team competed in the Hill Country Invitational in Fredericksburg last Friday in one of the largest tournaments hosted in the Central Texas area. Nineteen schools competed in tough weather conditions that included 35 mile an hour wind gusts. The girls doubles team of Leanne Cantalupo and Marissa Steel won 3 matches before meeting up with two of their own teammates in the finals, Mariah Morgan and Morgan Ware, thus ensuring that Dripping Springs High School took home first and second in girls doubles competition. Cantalupo and Steel went
on to win the match to capture first place. The two top singles players for the Tigers, Austin Benesh and Jessica Ramsey, did not compete in the tournament.
The team is preparing for their District 26-4A tournament which will be next week on the campus of The University of Texas!

2/9/09 The Varsity and JV Tennis teams are off to a great start with the Spring Season...
Varsity competed in the Georgetown Tournament...Sr. Austin Benesh took first place in his division...and Sophomores Leanne Cantalupo and Marisa Steele made it to the semi-finals in their division. Great job!
Junior Varsity competed in the Wimberley Tournament...Holly Cantalupo and Maddy Springer won 1st place in Girls Doubles...Nicole Rice won the Girls Singles Consolation...Matt Lesicko and Cody Cockayne won 1st place in the Boys doubles while Chase Brown and Chris Lucas-Melanson took 2nd place. Cameron Chapa made it to the Semi-finals in the Boys Singles
division. Overall the team took 3rd place in team points! Way to go!
The Varsity team is back on the courts this Friday competing in the Lake Travis Invitational and the next JV tournament is on the 19th at Fredericksburg.
