Magnificent Day at Regionals!

Congratulations to freshman Bailey Johnson and her triple medal haul at the Region IV-4A Track Championships in San Antonio!  Bailey began the meet on Friday with a Silver medal performance in the Triple Jump which earned her a trip to the State Meet May 9-10 at The University of Texas.  She followed that up on a warm Saturday afternoon with her first Gold Medal in the 100 M High Hurdles and then less than two hours later she set a Regional Championship Meet Record and another first place in the 300 M Hurdles with a  44.65 clocking! Bailey scored 28 points to catapult the team to a sixth place finish of 54 schools in Region IV-4A.  Also scoring for the girls track team was the 6th place 800 Relay consisting of Kate Hassman, Bailey Johnson, Cheri Ducharme, and Jenna Beyer.  The team is coached by Marisa Maher.

Darius Butler, a senior, ran well for the Boys team as he placed 5th in the 800 with a 1:58.66.  Darius also qualified for the finals in the 400 meter run and finished in the top 8 of 24 qualifiers.  Spencer Wood threw the discus for the Tigers in San Antonio in his first trip to Regionals.  Congratulations to these two young men and their coach, Lewis Jenkins.
