As Parent Teacher Student Association members, we create a world for all children when we stand tall and speak out for every child; support parents; and as we partner with the community to shape tomorrow’s leaders.

Did you know that all money raised by the PTSA goes back to benefit students and teachers?  Some of the items we have provided for our school include staff and student appreciation, donation of $100 to Project Graduation in 2001 and helped sponsor the English Department's Speaker in 2004/2005. The giving continued with the PTSA helping to pay for TAKS benchmark essay grading, publication of the English department Historical Collection, and floor mats for the main entrances. The PTSA also paid for U.S. History curriculum materials various staff and student appreciation activities.

DSHS PTSA provides up to four scholarships each year for students who are members or who has a parent who is a member. Since 2004, $7,500 in scholarships has been awarded. 

The Tiger Newsletter and Campus Calendar are sponsored by the PTSA, too.
