Welcome!  It is our goal to provide a comprehensive counseling program which promotes and emphasizes positive student growth and development for all students through demonstrated use of effective strategies and practices.

What Does a Middle School Counselor Do?

The counselor helps all students with anything that could interfere with their learning.  They are a resource for teachers and parents.  They coordinate and consult with administration, teachers, students and parents.  The counselors see students individually and in groups; conduct classroom activities in self-concept through group guidance.  The counselors also coordinate the testing programs and help interpret TAKS data for parents, teachers and students.

Make Up Work Policy

Make-up work is the responsibility of the student.  A student who has had an excused absence is expected to obtain and complete assignments missed and/ or additional in-depth study assigned by the teacher to meet subject or course requirements.

Students who are ill or must miss school for a principal-approved reason and expect to be absent can call the counselor's office after three or more days to request assignments.  Twenty-four hours must be allowed for the accumulation of the assignments.
