Once you have added an image to a web page, you may find you want to make changes to the original image. In theory, you should be able to change or replace the image file with a different image and when the web page loads, the browser loads whatever file is found under the given name at the given location and places that file in the proper location. Composer appears to handle images somewhat differently that what might be expected in this way. Be aware that different authoring programs may handle these changes in their own way.
Also, text may appear placed around images in various ways. This too, appears to be handed differently in different authoring programs.
In Composer, once an image is placed into a web page, the size of the image is set. Should you replace the original file with a smaller or larger file, the file will be enlarged or reduced to fit the existing space. To fix this, you can click on the image and select FORMAT>Image Properties (or double-click the image). Click on Dimensions and be sure (in most cases) to also click Custom Sizes and the CONSTRAIN button (below). This will allow you to change the one of the dimensions and the other dimension changes proportionally. Otherwise, your picture could be distorted from what you likely want.
Text Around Images:
There are times you may want an image to appear on a web page and have text information appear wrapped around the image. You may wish to use a table to get a more exact placement of text around the image. However, one way to accomplish this is to use the text wrap features built into Composer. Go to Format>Image Properites and Appearance.
By clicking on the pop up menu, you can select how you want text to appear around the image. However, it is wise to enter the information and then see how it looks when you Preview the page in Navigator. The wrapped text may not appear properly within Composer.
There are several options for wrapped text, as the screen shot below shows. A line of text may appear at the top, middle, or bottom of the image, or multiple lines of text may be wrapped around the image as the choices show.
You can also set information about how much space you want around the image
whether or not you want a border (and specify its size).
Remember, you will most likely get the placement you desire by using tables but in the case you want this type of wrapped text, these options may be appropriate.
