Indents
Module 13

As  you have seen, HTML allows for only limited formatting.  In most cases, you cannot use the space bar or the TAB key to create special formatting.  One way to set text apart is to indent text on a page.

1.  If it is not already open, open Page2 on your screen and go to FILE>Edit Page.

2.  Click at the bottom of the page and type the names of 5 people- one on each line.

Jimmy Carter
Ronald Reagan
George Bush
Bill Clinton
George Bush

3.  Now select the five lines and press the Increase Indent button in the toolbar

If you wish, you can click the button again and increase the indent even more.

4.  You may have text that you do not need indented as far as it is.  To do this, you can select the text and click the Decrease Indent  button.

While your options are limited (you can't change the amount of the indent) you may find this option useful for simple alignment of information.  In a future module, you will see how Tables can be used to allow more precise placement of information in a web page.

5.  SAVE your page and Preview it.
