PC Graphics
Module PCGraphics-1

When using PC graphics, you will need to be sure to scan, create, or otherwise obtain your images and convert them into either GIF or JPEG format.  If you have the PC version of ClarisWorks, the basic steps provided in the Macintosh Graphics-1 lesson applies.

Unfortunately, there are many programs available for use on the PC platform, but each of them works in different ways, and there does not appear to be a standardly accepted program that will make the conversions.  The accessory program  Paint, generally found under START>Program Files>Accessories>Paint will take an image and save it as a JPEG or BMP file.  You may be able to convert it into GIF format, possibly through one of the web page image services available.

Other programs such as PhotoShop, Microsoft PhotoEditor, or various shareware/freeware programs may be able to make the graphic manipulations necessary to come out with images in the proper format.  Common manipulations would include taking an image and crop it, save it in GIF or JPEG, make certain areas transparent, create thumbnail images, and adjust image sizes.

Once you have obtained your image files in the proper format, you can then use them in web pages.

If you want, you may Quit at this time or continue on to the next module
