As
your Instructional Facilitator, I will contribute to your professional
growth as well as instructional needs if you let me! I have experience
in many curriculum areas, as well as a "feel" for the expectations and
needs of the Dripping Springs High School Campus and Dripping Springs community.
I am not one of the true "old timers," but a move in from the El Paso ISD.
I have been a member of the Dripping Springs High School team since 1989. As a teacher on the high school campus, I have taught English I, English II, Honors English I and II, PAP English I, English IV, and Honors English IV, ESOL I, II, III, and the old correlated English courses. I have also served as English Department chair for eight years, cheerleader sponsor for a cummulation of five years, class sponsor for four years, junior-senior prom coordinator for six years, graduation or senior coordinator for six years, and UIL literary criticism sponsor for eight years. I have also served as a teacher trainer for Regions XIII and a curriculum writer for DSISD.
As an El Paso ISD employee from 1976 until 1986, I taught ESOL II and III, English I and Honors English I, English III, U. S. History, newspaper (journalism). I was a curriculum writer for EPISD and a teacher trainer for Region XIX.
From 1974 until 1976, I was fortunate and naive
enough to begin my teaching career in the O'Donnell ISD, a I-A
school district in the Texas Panhandle, teaching English II, English
III, English IV; Spanish I and II;Speech I-IV, including a
closed circuit television programming class for the community; and
journalism, including newspaper and literary journal. I was also
cheerleader sponsor, UIL debate, ready writing, prose and poetry,
and all other speaking events. There is something to be said
about youth! However, all in all, my first two years were my
happiest years teaching!
