About Me
I am a
graduate of the
University
of Kentucky. After graduating, I had the opportunity to serve in the
Peace
Corps for three years in Ecuador. I have a total of 26 years of
teaching
with primary and middle age school children in regular and special
education
programs in language arts, reading, and mathematics. I moved to Texas
in
1984 and taught in the Del Valle Independent School District for 13
years as a Special Education
teacher. During this time, I received training in an
Orton-Gillingham
reading program at the Neuhaus Center in Houston,Texas. I
moved
to Dripping Springs in 1998. I taught at the Middle School in the
special
education program, and in an inclusion math classroom in 6th and 7th
grades.
For the 2003-2004 school year, I moved to the Elementary School to
teach
language arts and reading in the resource room and work in the Content
Mastery Learning Lab. Now I am at the new Rooster Springs Elementary
School as an inclusion teacher in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 for the
2007-2008 school year.
