I began my teaching career at Dripping Springs Intermediate in August of 1995. Since that time, I have learned many wonderful things from my students. I believe that I have the greatest job in the world! It is my privilege to be involved in the learning process as the Teacher Librarian at Walnut Springs Elementary.
I am proud of my family which includes Jeff, my husband, and my two children Angela and Jeffrey. Angela is a student at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio and Jeffrey is a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy.
When I am not at school, you may find me traveling to one of our nation's national parks. My family and I have driven across the nation from the Pacific to the Atlantic, from Florida to Wyoming and many points in between. Some of those vacations were planned after hearing stories from my students about their family vacations. I am especially thankful for all the stories shared about Yellowstone, which if forced to rank, would be my number one destination. My other activities include volunteering with our Youth Group, collecting music boxes and reading. My favorite authors are Louisa May Alcott, L.M. Montgomery and John Grisham.
I am an enthusiastic learner. I love to investigate new ideas and facts on a wide variety of subjects. Teaching is such a fulfilling job because it is very challenging. My creativity is always working on designing new and interesting lessons. I am intellectually stimulated by learning from and sharing with my students and developing new strategies to reach each individual learner. I hope that both students and families find our library inviting. Please feel free to stop in and learn with us!
