By Curious George
I was outside climbing a tree when my mom called me in for dinner. I was running at full speed, because I was really hungry, when I saw something that made me stop right then and just stare. A red truck was parked at our gate and the driver was holding something that looked like a small handbag. He threw it at our gate and drove off. I ran up to the gate to see what the man had dropped off, and found that he had thrown out a small kitten about the size of my hand! I picked her limp body up and took her to my mom. I named her Callie because she was a calico kitten. We took care of her for about two years, then she just disappeared. When I went to school the next day, my friend, Jennifer, told me that a cat had wandered into their yard the day before. That weekend I went over to her house to see the cat that had come over. We went into her room, where, on her bed, was Callie, my cat! I told her about how Callie had run away from my house, and Jennifer was amazed that Callie had gotten all the way to her house without a scratch. It must just be one of the great things that cats can do.
