Adam couldn't stand it, he ran in the direction of Taylor's voice. All of us at once chased after him. He was on the track team so of course we all were left way behind. He started to fade in the darkness.
"Adam!" Tia yelled after him.
Ben held Tia back, "It's okay, he'll come back. There is no way we can catch up with him."
I just stood there in shock. Ben looked to where Adam had disappeared and shook his head. He led Tia and me back to the camp. We sat down by the fire, not looking at each other. Tia looked really freaked out, she kept on whispering 'we are okay, we are okay' over and over again.
"I forgot to tell you," I began saying, "That I had a dream on Friday night. About when me and you, Ben, were little and went down here. And I got so scared, those hands reaching for me. I started to choke when I woke up. I went to the bathroom...and...there were red hand prints on my neck--like someone had been choking me."
Tia started to rock back and forth. Ben stared at me for the longest time until he said, "I had that dream too...oh, my God."
"And I went on the computer when I came home from school. I searched for some information on Hollow's Hole. Only one link came up; it said 5 teenagers were murdered here. Their bodies covered in stones--"
"Oh, shut up, Alice! That's not very funny!" Ben said angrily.
"Do you think I'm laughing? Do you think I am joking?"
Ben scratched his head, "Oh, I don't know, maybe its because there are five of us here?"
I gasped in shock. Taylor, Adam, Tia, Ben, and me--that is five.
"But I really did see that on my computer!"
"Give me a break--"
"I'm not lying you idiot!"
"Who's the idiot? You--"
We both stopped. Adam's voice was screaming in the woods.
Tia stood up, "Adam!" She shrieked.
Ben and I stood up too. Adam's voice seemed to be coming from all directions. The fire made a hissing sound. I whirled around and saw that the fire was about to burn out.
"We need some wood quick, or we are going to be in darkness pretty soon." I said.
Tia finally spoke, "Are you kidding me? I am not going out there!"
We all sat in complete darkness just like I said would happen. We couldn't sleep, especially with Adam still screaming. Something moved behind Tia and she yelled. We all stood up, looking around. Ben yelled somewhere behind me, so I ran towards him. It was so dark, but luckily I found someone, not noticing he was really wet, hugged him really tight. "Ben, I am so scared."
Ben's voice came from behind me, "who are you talking to? Someone pushed me on the ground."
The after-funeral party was at Alice's house. Mr. Norlan, Alice's Dad, looked around the mourning group of family members and friends. Mrs. Norlan was nowhere in sight. He looked in the kitchen, dining and living rooms. He stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked up to notice Alice's bedroom door stood open. He went up and into the room he saw his wife sitting stiffly on the bed. Her eyes were fixated in horror on the computer.
"What the-" Mr. Norlan started to say. He looked at the computer and read the article silently to himself:
Five teenagers were found dead at Hollow's Hole in Florence, Alabama. The kids were camping out after a big blast at the July Carnival. Their bodies seem to have been covered in stones. Doctors figured that they were murdered one by one. They were drowned in the water hole and bruised, supposedly, by the stones. This case has been added to the unsolved mysteries. Though they are still trying to figure out who could murder these five innocent teenagers in one night. People who lived nearby said they heard screaming all night. They called the police immediately. Unfortunately, they got there to late, only finding a deserted camp site and five large piles of stones near the water's edge. It was only an hour later they saw a hand sticking out from one of the pile of rocks....
