| You
will be traveling to two exciting areas of Texas. You will discover
unique features for each of these areas.
You will first travel to San Antonio, where you will explore the Alamo and several historic Missions. At your next stop in Big Bend National Park in west Texas, you will view many aspects of the park. |

| At each stop on your tour, you will be completing a scavenger hunt, answering questions from the information at that site. Be sure to have your scavenger hunt page with you as you read the information given. When you have visited all of the sites, you will complete the project for each stop and then the final project. |
First Stop-San Antonio
| During
your visit to San Antonio, you will go to the Alamo
website and the site for some historic Missions.
You will answer the questions on the scavenger hunt based on the information
found at those sites. Concentrate on the areas of "Alamo's Historic
Past" and "Visitor Information".
For your project, you will work with a group to design a travel brochure for these places. Your brochure page should be folded into three sections. The first section will be the cover of your brochure. The other sections will show the Alamo and the other four Missions. You will use the front and back of your page. You will be graded on the way your group works together, as well as your finished product. |
Second Stop-Big Bend National Park
| On
your tour of Big Bend National
Park, you will use the site to find the things listed on the scavenger
hunt page. Pay particular attention to the "Natural Resources" and
"What's So Special About This Place?".
The project for this site will be for each of you to construct a diorama depicting the landscape of an area of the park and the animals that live there. You will write a short description of your diorama that will be placed beside your project for others to read. |
Final Project
| Your final project will be to make a Texas travel poster that illustrates these two areas of Texas, San Antonio and Big Bend National Park. Your poster should include illustrations and the name of each place you illustrated. |
