DSISD is fortunate to have a network that is both reliable and cost effective, requiring minimal maintenance. The High School, Middle School, and Intermediate School are connected to the district core switch by gigabit fiber. The Primary School, Service Center, and AEP buildings are connected through wireless technology at 11 Mbs. The Primary, Middle and about 99% of the High School are switched at 100 Mbs and the Intermediate School has hubs to each classroom, connected centrally by switches.
The district uses a combination of Apple, Windows, Novell, and Linux servers. FirstClass provides communication and web service for the district, and Skyward servers manage student and financial information.
