Long Range 4th Grade Goals

Guidelines for Success
4th Grade Students Will:

1. learn and use a variety of reading strategies to comprehend selections read aloud and independently.
2. improve reading fluency.
3. read a variety of genres to acquire knowledge and for reading pleasure
4. master addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts
5. use reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills to solve math problems and explain the process.
6. improve written expression skills by learning and using the writing process for self-initiated and assigned writing.
7. work cooperatively in a group as a participant and as a leader.
8. follow classroom procedures that have been taught, modeled, practiced and monitored to achieve independence and responsibility.

A 3rd grade student will be successful when he or she is:

* working cooperatively with others

* giving every task his or her best effort.

* caring for others and school property.

* asking questions for clarifications and understanding.
